The Soleil Lifestory Network Leader Training & Certification Program prepares qualified writers and teachers to lead lifewriting workshops in their own communities and to sustain their writing-based businesses. Since 1988, Denis Ledoux has presented memoir writing programs and helped people of all ages from a wide range of backgrounds to write their personal and family lifestories. The Affiliate Leaders program makes his Turning Memories® and its materials and methods available everywhere in the English-speaking world. In the year 2000, Turning Memories® originator Denis Ledoux reissued the popular and comprehensive Curriculum and Presenter's Manuals. He also developed a Business Supports Seminar (and the Personal History Practice Planning Manual) to provide orientation, business strategy planning and ready-to-implement systems and forms tailored specifically for the small home-based writing business of leading Turning Memories Into Memoirs® workshops. Substantial discounts are offered for early workshop registration. Please see current registration details. Accommodations are not included in the workshop tuition fees. These programs promote honing skills and adapting existing knowledge and experience. They include mentoring by Turning Memories Into Memoirs® originator, Denis Ledoux, an experienced, full-time professional personal historian.
Today, the Leader Training & Certification Program provides Certification as a benefit of its in-depth professional development and training experience. Based on the Turning Memories Into Memoirs® lifewriting method and materials which have helped tens of thousands of people since their development in 1988, the Certification program is the only one of its kind. There is no other professional development program tailored to prepare you to provide an effective presentation of lifestory writing workshops and programs.
To earn Certification, Leader Trainees complete a Turning Memories® Workshop led by Soleil founder/director Denis Ledoux. They experience first hand the same program they will present themselves as certified workshop leaders. They also complete a Business Supports Seminar Tele-Class. This component offered as a 15-week telephone conference class covers the nuts and bolts of growing or revitalizing a lifewriting-based small business. Independent small business planning, office procedures, publicity and outreach, marketing and record keeping--all are specifically tailored to the personal historian professional and based on our 14+ years of experience in developing memoir curriculum, growing our business, and presenting lifewriting programs. The Business Supports Seminar Tele-Class and its manual provide multi-level guidance and support as leaders launch and sustain their community-based personal history practice. The third component is the Curriculum Methods Tele-Class led by Denis Ledoux. In this five week certification tele-class, you will learn to implement the teaching plans of the Turning Memories Into Memoirs Curriculum Manual. PLUS A COMPREHENSIVE RESOURCES PACKAGE Soleil Lifestory Network Certification is based on use of the full range of resources available to Leader Trainees. While Partial Packages of presenter materials are available, Certification is granted only to those who purchase and use the AFFILIATE TEACHER RESOURCE PACKAGE of Workshop Leader materials.
