Soleil Editing Services Costs

Fees
Our charge for editorial services is $80/hour for all manuscript editing, and for extended consultation by telephone.

We always bill by the minute. It's to your advantage--you will be charged ONLY for the time spent on your manuscript, since we measure in such small increments.

There is no charge for an initial consultation by phone, or for first-class postage on your return manuscript.

Terms

1. Deposit

For the 2-hour Trial Editing (click here for info), you make a deposit of $160 by check or through PayPal to open your Soleil account.

2. Next Payments

Beyond the 2-hour Trial Editing, you can choose to pay in several ways:

  • leave an agreed-upon amount on deposit to charge services against -OR-
  • make a payment through PayPal for an agreed-upon amount to charge services against.

    • Editing work will only be undertaken for clients whose accounts are up to date.

    "Turn-Around" Times

    The time it takes to edit and return your memoir manuscript varies due to
  • the length of each segment you send
  • the number of changes/suggestions
  • the kind and complexity of changes or issues you ask your editor to address.
    Generally, 30 pages can be edited and returned within a week of receipt. Mailing time is, of course, additional.

    Our pledge to you is unequivocal:
  • We will establish a supportive and professional editorial relationship with you, working with you to set appropriate goals for your manuscript-in-progress and for its future.
  • Your manuscripts will be returned to you in a timely fashion.
  • We will never guarantee you financial success from your writing or bestseller status for your manuscript.
  • We do guarantee to maintain our high standards both for your work and for our working relationship.
  • We pledge to work with you to see that your manuscript reaches its potential.
